Day 33: Iggy Goes Down
Mar 20th/09
Hey, two more wall writings. I'm glad that anonymous realized what the wall was missing: despite all of the quotes and submissions so far, the wall had no words of wisdom from our century's (and the last's) wisest wiley tunesmith, Iggy Pop. So to make up for that glaring oversight, here are two quality Iggy lyrics:

Last Chance?
Nov 28th/08
Write On My Wall: While supplies last! It's hard to believe, but it has been three years since the Write On My Wall project began. The wall is nearly complete, so this may be your last chance to submit some words to be written upon it. Hurry!
It has always been a fairly ridiculous project, but we're thankful for everyone who has taken part. We've received submissions from all over the world, which is pretty cool.
Anyway, keep them coming... the end is near!
Day 30! Three new writings...
Nov 19th/08
Hello! Grand to see you all. Today on our wall we have three new additions. All of the new writings can be seen on the zoomable image atop the main page of the project. If you don't see it above, try this link (and make sure you have a Flash-enabled browser). The first new writing is a quality submission by Ryan out in Fort McMurray...
"If there was nothing wrong, then there would be nothing right."
Thanks Ryan. The other two submissions are somewhat anonymous:
"I think it's really tragic when people get really serious about stuff. It's such an absurdity to take anything really serious. ... I mean, what does it all mean when you get right down to it? What's the story here? Being alive is so weird."
~ Frank Zappa"This is serious."
~ Somebody. That's all for now, folks. Stay tuned, and get those submissions moving: we're getting very near the end of this project. You don't want to miss out. After all, this is serious.
Brian
Day 29! Two More...
Nov 07th/08
We've added a fancy new high-tech super-resolution zoomable photo of the wall (a Flash-enabled browser is required). It's like being there. If you don't see it above, go to the main page for Write On My Wall. Two new additions today. Both submissions were anonymous.
"Write In My Journal"
Oct 07th/08
Fans of "write on my wall" might want to check out www.writeinmyjournal.com, a project run by David of Salt Lake City:"I approach people who look interesting - like they have a story to tell - and ask them if they, knowing they’ll most likely never see me again, will write in my journal. They’re free to write whatever they want. I may give them a prompt to start but ultimately it’s up to them."
Unlike us, David updates his project regularly, with scans and transcriptions of the latest journal entries. You can see it all at www.writeinmyjournal.com.
Day 28: 3 more!
Sep 03rd/08
Three new writings on the wall. Thanks to everyone who submitted. Today's update includes a submission from Turkey, one from New Jersey, and one special guest submission personally hand-written by BFP Alex.

P.S. I would like to ramble on for the public record that Facebook stole the whole "writing on walls" idiom from us. Well, maybe not, but people were writing on this wall back when the facebook phenomenon was just a twinkle in a lonely web developer's eye. Nonetheless, this wall has the distinct advantage of actually existing. If that can be said to be an advantage, these days...
I think so.
Day 27: Two more.
May 10th/08
Here are two more recent additions to the wall, both anonymous submissions.

Still more to come, including a Turkish submission from Turkey. Naturally.
